DV - getting list of values
The next big reporting and analysing tool for your data is Oracle DV.
It can be access directly (above link) or from the CXD Analytics Home Page
To find out if you have access to DV (or you need to request one) check this FAQ
For Endeca users it might be useful to use DV for pulling LOVs of certain attributes:
- Industries
- Products
- Topic Names
- Business Names (of accounts)
- Titles (Levels,Departments,Specialties)
I have prepared this project: EndecaLOVs
At the bottom of the page you will find 5 tabs for the lists of values from
Endeca attributes mentioned above:
To export any of the reports click on the icon at the top-right of the screen:
Next: File
Type of the file: csv
Finally save and open with Excel or Libre Office.
You can filter the values in final report (that is going to be exported). For
that purpose use the filters row at the top of the report:
Now the report is limited to Technlogy department titles only:
Another use-case when Endeca hits its limits is when you want to target
specific account by Business Name:
In the above we search for any Accounts with ‘BMW’ in name. There are 206 accounts found but only 20 can be selected. There is no way to select further accounts in that way.
The workaround is to use DV report for ‘BusinessNames’ do the selection on ‘BMW’ there and export to get ‘CXD_Account_ID’s that can be used as input to ‘Company Segment’ on Endeca (see this blog post on how to use IDs to create ‘Company Segment’).
